ECV 9 project, also known as Nîpisîy House, is a student residence at the U of A campus.

The architectural design of the building balances a response to the vernacular of the historical Garneau neighbourhood, while maintaining its own unique character.

Our team took inspiration from Brownstone style row houses, incorporating direct street access to ground floor units to make student residents feel part of the neighbourhood rather than temporary visitors.

While many campus residence buildings take an internalized apartment style approach, HSEA prefers a strategy that integrates into its surroundings.
